How do those of us who have experienced the loss of a child not only survive, but learn to live well again, come to realize a new purpose for life and quite possibly thrive? You are not in this alone. God knows exactly how you feel. His son Jesus, died for our sins. God knows what it’s like to grieve like we do. We will never get over this but we will get through it. Heaven is a day closer than yesterday, we can almost see it!
to bestow on them a crown of beauty
instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning,
and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair.
They will be called oaks of righteousness,
a planting of the Lord for the display
splendor.”
In honor of Arkon Gray Stewart, III
Our son Gray was a gift from God, a prayer we had almost given up on when he was born. Those of us who have lost children love to tell stories about them over and over…stories that make us laugh and cry…both are good for the soul. We thank God everyday for the gift of our children, we celebrate and remember them, we hope you will, too. Because there are no calendars in Heaven, and God’s mercy is always on time. We go on. We’re still here on earth, waiting, watching and dreaming about the day we will be together again. Heaven is on the horizon.
